What Do You Do?
"I'm an estate agent. I sell homes."
Not a very enlightening response - particularly given that the reputation of estate agency with consumers is rock-bottom.
The perception of what agencies do for their fee is often misplaced. The work that agents do that isn't seen is where the real value lies.
Knowing what questions to ask. What answers they should be hearing. What follow-up questions to ask and how to dig deeper to uncover the real motives of both buyer and seller.
Tomorrow, I will be chatting to Rob Wells, a property broker from Hove, who has 20 years experience of the industry. I'm sure there will be fresh perspectives on the table. Nothing is off-limits.
