Everyone, deep in their hearts, wants to become a Maverick.

Everyone, deep in their hearts, wants to become a Maverick.
Everyone, deep in their hearts, wants to become a Maverick.

The rule breaker.

The one who defies authority.

The one who follows the beat of their own intuition.

This is not just the storyline of books or movies - but religious scripture handed down through generations.

We admire those who forge their own path, whether on the silver screen or those who are winning at life.

And we quietly fantasise about what our life would look like if we did the same.

If we became the hero in our own journey.

If we were admired and celebrated by those around us.

If we risked it all for a shot at glory and it all worked out in our favour.

We’ve all seen the movies - against all odds the hero succeeds and lives happily ever after. They’re revered, they’re celebrated and their names are passed down from one generation to the next in books, movies and statues erected for the ones who walked their own path.

Everyone, deep in their hearts, wants to become a Maverick.

It is perhaps as well that society opposes so many people choosing the path of the Maverick. Without it, Mavericks would never be held in high regard. There would be no silent envy of the one who chose to flout the rules because their intuition told them there was a better way of doing things.

And it is perhaps as well that not everyone can become a Maverick. Sure, plenty of people can operate within their chosen profession at a high level. But the Mavericks - everyone knows they are different. They don’t play by the same rules. They take risks whilst others choose to play it safe. They’re tapped into a different energy - a different way of being - a different spirit if you will - that pushes them beyond the confines of society’s rules, regulations and accepted ways of being.

The Mavericks are in every industry, profession and sport. They’re the names people wear on their clothes. They have a gift, an understanding and a will that cannot be controlled. They laugh in the face of convention and smile wryly when someone suggests they’re not conforming.

It’s not arrogance - it’s a knowing - at a cellular level that they’re playing the game of life with a different set of rules. In fact, they’ve realised at the highest level that there are no rules, only the creative essence that pervades all things. The oneness that’s available to everyone if only they would heed the call.

To the rest of society, it makes no sense. They’re trapped on the hamster-wheel to nowhere seeking marginal gains whilst often complaining about their lot in life. The Mavericks on the other hand ignore the well-meaning but wrong advice passed down from generation to generation, because they’re tuned into a different signal.

That same signal is available to everyone if they would only take the time to listen. To stop doing what they know in their heart isn’t working and choose a different path. One led by intuition. One led by wonder. And one guided by Spirit.

This doesn’t mean Mavericks will face no obstacles, but it does mean they don’t take their eyes off the prize in pursuit of their objectives to become the very best that they can be.

If something about this resonates and 2026 is the year you choose to follow the call of your intuition, then I would love to hear from you. Drop a comment below or DM me and lets chat because a better future awaits and it is only the Mavericks who can bring about that change because everyone else is too timid to act.

Every industry needs their Mavericks. The property industry certainly does. It is no longer 'ok' to wait for change to happen. Mavericks help drive change.
