It's an energy, a vibration that is often overlooked.
The focus, when it is purely transactional, becomes a focus on words. Following a script, delivering a 'performance'. Instead of opening ourselves to what someone else is feeling.
All real communication is about truth and when it becomes difficult, we tend to overuse words. To fill in the silences.Your words influence the logic but their tone influences the emotions.
Our pitch, pace and tone of voice often reveal extroversion, warmth, negativity, hesitancy, or assertiveness.
When we meet someone, it is always an exchange of energy. A vibration, a frequency. You to them and right back at you. Your thoughts are vibrations. Those thoughts usually become words which also vibrate at a certain frequency. The pitch and tone of voice are guides.
Pitch plays a crucial role in conveying the emotional impact and meaning. Different pitches evoke different moods and feelings, from uplifting, lighter and reassuring to sombre, darker, heavier and lethargic.
Voice becomes a representation of your inner world - The Brand Within. It's as unique as your fingerprint. It reflects your personality, emotions and experiences.
First impressions matter.
When you're invited to appraise, make sure you're not a stranger knocking on the door. Potential clients appreciate knowing WHO you are as much as what you can do and how well. If there's already synergy, it becomes simply a matter for the potential client to determine the agent's authenticity. Does the agent feel genuine? It's a gut-instinct on the part of the client and it's never wrong.
Most of estate agency training these days is about overcoming objections, demonstrating worth and adding value - the real value comes from WHO you are, not what you do.
There's nothing 'wrong' when we don't get the vibe - it's simply not a great fit. There's little point in trying to convince & convert someone who isn't on your wavelength. Time is better spent attracting those that are.
