When The Going Gets Tough, The Tough Get Nice

When The Going Gets Tough, The Tough Get Nice.

Unexecuted plans are no good. We know that received wisdom is that of fail to plan and plan to fail.

Everyone has plans; plan A for the dreamers & Plan B for the pragmatists. Many of the ideas get derailed, though, because we get stuck in the "thinking zone.".  Trying to get it perfected, instead of getting it done.

"Talking and doing fight for the same resources. Research shows that while goal visualisation is important, after a certain point, our mind begins to confuse it with actual progress."  _ Ryan Holiday.

Action divides the thinkers from the movers.

We are fortunate at #niceism and #makingmankind that it's a Not-For-Money project. Having no requirement for profit, we rely on goodwill to make things happen.

If someone chooses to over-think the problem and do nothing, our project doesn't miss out. Those in need of nice, will miss out.

The beauty of being nice, though, is that it costs nothing and brings its own reward. An addictive hit of dopamine - the happy hormone.

It really is addictive.

It takes seconds to be nice - minutes & hours if you can, but act on impulse and then think and talk about it afterwards.

The 2011 book by psychologist, Daniel Kahneman, Thinking Fast & Slow describes two modes of thought: System 1 is fast, instinctive and emotional. System 2 is slower, more deliberate and more logical. They both have their place.

We need System 1 disciples, the spontaneous and emotional ones, to help those that can't help themselves.

"Imagine the world united, what part can you play?" is our headline at #niceism.

We go on to talk about Humanity as kind, gentle, loving, giving, compassionate, thoughtful. How we have been given the chance in this life on this wonderful planet to do something special.

Wouldn't you like to become part of a community that can change the vibration of the planet and build a world we would happily pass on to the next generation?

Together we are stronger. Together we can do this.

Do what you can, there is no big or small. You never know the impact your kindness can create. That energy ripples throughout the universe and the consequences are huge.

Smile, be joyful, see that being alive is a gift. The spread that happiness to others.

Help people with their shopping, take time to listen to problems. Donate time to your community.

Do it willingly, not because you feel obliged.

Here's just a few of our members, from too many to mention, doing just that:

"Give more than you take."  Michael Tinsager

"To be there to help and not expect something back." Nadine Southam

"Small acts of unconditional kindness."  Miranda Andrea

"Treating others the same way I would like to be treated."  Kevin Daniels

"To be nice not only to strangers but especially nice for people close to me."  - Anna Maria Debiec

"Helping others in need."  - Lydia Andrews
