Estate Agents Wanted To Join Trial To Speed Up Property Transactions By Getting Buyers To Pay For Searches Upfront
In a recent trial 200 buyers were asked to pay for their searches at the point of sale. Those who did not pay took on average 120+ days to completion, with a fall through rate of 43%.
Those who did pay took 79 days to completion on average and had a ZERO fall through rate. These figure are startling and we are looking to repeat the trial with a wider group of estate agents. This simple step can have a huge impact on all parties involved.

This makes total sense. I think we need as much as possible to be provided up front. All fixtures and fittings and the like should all be in place before a property is even marketed. It is insanity that it isn't. This would speed up things for the solicitors too.
