Why aren’t surveys done on sellers’ properties before they’re listed for sale?

Brent experienced the frustration of his buyer pulling out after 10 weeks because of adverse survey results and he's not sure what's put them off.

This is doubly-frustrating because not only will it have cost Brent money and time, he still may face the same problems again with any new buyer - so he asked a simple question - why aren't surveys done on sellers’ properties before they’re listed for sale?

Tune in to find out how we approached this and tried to help him avoid problems again in the future.

We had a survey doneI too think this should be done at the start by the seller. I would still get my own survey done but this would have helped us. We had a survey done on a house we were going to buy which showed up over £7.5k of work that needed doing. We were going to get it done but long story short we didn't and pulled out in the end.

If this was already known to us at the start we wouldn't have wasted our money or the seller's time. Plus agree, if the seller had got one done maybe they'd have put the issues right before it was put up for sale and saved us all time and stress. Now we are back to square one in our search.

Some great advice here on wigwam
