Can we sue the builder for failing to complete our two-storey extension?

Raj was pretty fed up that despite agreeing a contract and specification with a builder, he now appears to be trying to change the terms and wriggle out of the deal.

The builders had them over a barrell and kept requesting more and more money - the costs were escalating. At one point they were close to approx £80k and had just given them another £10k after which they suddenly stopped coming. Then, the worst thing happened and the builder stopped trading. Long story short is they had to get new builders in. In the end the entire project cost double the original quote. The worst bit was the original builder was back trading under a new name!  More ...
