These roundtable discussions are small, interactive gatherings of SPR members in company boardrooms/meeting rooms to discuss, debate & learn about topical issues.

Please join us for a roundtable discussion based on the Ian Cullen Research Prize, U30s Category winning paper; Re-thinking the green belt by Sophie Davidson, Carter Jonas.

The Labour government has pledged to supercharge the rate of housebuilding, and the use of Green Belt land could help deliver its ambitious target of 1.5 million new homes. Carter Jonas has assessed the Green Belt’s role in constraining development, the case for selected house building within the Green Belt, and its potential to help deliver sustainable development where it is needed. The research looks at examples of where greater flexibility would be beneficial, such as along major transport arteries that traverse the Green Belt.

Spaces are limited, so please only book if you will attend.

No prior knowledge of the subject is required, just a willingness to engage with fellow researchers.

Please note that this is a limited attendance event and spaces will be offered on a first come, first served basis.
