At Ocean 3D, our mission has always been – and always will be - simple: to make the UK more accessible, one space at a time. And with the public release of a new interactive 3D virtual tour of Morrab Surgery in Penzance, we've taken another meaningful step in that direction.

This welcoming local GP surgery – located in an imposing Victorian terraced property in the heart of Penzance, West Cornwall – has literally taken accessibility to another dimension thanks to a fully navigable, 360° walkthrough of its facilities. This initiative allows patients, carers, and visitors to explore and familiarise themselves with the layout of the surgery before stepping through the door.

We know from our previous work in healthcare that unfamiliar environments can be a real source of anxiety, particularly for autistic individuals, those with sensory processing differences, or anyone who simply needs a little extra time to prepare. With this new tour, anyone can explore the surgery's entrances and exits, waiting areas, corridors and consultation rooms - and of course its' washroom facilities - at their own pace, from the comfort of home.

And to say that the surgery joins the family could not be truer. Not just a commercial client, Morrab Surgery also holds huge personal significance for Ocean 3D's CEO, Chris Wood and his family. His late father, Dr Richard Wood, was a much-respected GP at Morrab for a period spanning three decades from the late 1960s, before continuing his work with communities on the Isles of Scilly. Creating this virtual tour was not only about advancing accessibility — it was also a way of honouring that personal legacy of care and service to the people of Penzance. And it was service that went beyond the surgery's opening hours – Dr Wood was one of the 'on-call' GPs for the Cornish RNLI and participated in many rescue launches during his residence at Morrab, often accompanied by his wife (and Chris's mum) Margaret, then a nurse, and who still lives in the town.

Chris says "The current team at Morrab have shown incredible leadership by recognising the importance of accessibility, not just in word but in action. Their commitment means better access, lower anxiety, and ultimately a far more inclusive healthcare experience for the local community.

The tour utilises patented WCAG overlay tools, therefore meeting internationally recognised standards for digital accessibility. This ensures that individuals with a wide range of needs, from visual impairments to cognitive disabilities, can fully interact with and benefit from our tours. At Ocean 3D we pride ourselves on being at the forefront of virtual tours that cater to everyone, regardless of ability.

We invite everyone to view the Morrab Surgery virtual tour and see just how impactful this simple tool can be."

Whilst you'll find the link soon on the Ocean3D.co.uk Gallery Page where it joins a growing collection of public buildings, attractions and businesses helping to build a more inclusive UK, it is now live on the Morrab Surgery website and can be accessed here.

According to the Morrab Surgery website, "We are delighted to introduce our new virtual tour feature, designed to provide all patients, including those living with learning disabilities, mental health conditions such as anxiety, and dementia, with a more accessible and reassuring experience.

This virtual tour allows you to explore our practice at your own pace, offering a familiarisation opportunity that can significantly reduce anxiety associated with visiting new places. For patients with learning disabilities or dementia, the ability to visualise the environment beforehand can help in understanding the layout and what to expect, making visits less daunting. This tool also supports carers and family members in preparing and planning visits, ensuring a smoother and more comfortable experience for everyone involved.

We encourage you to take advantage of this feature by clicking the link and exploring our practice virtually today!"

If you're involved in a GP practice, clinic, hospital or health centre — or know someone who is — we'd love to help you do the same and would welcome an informal chat with no obligation whatsoever.

One space at a time... that's how change happens.

OTHER REASONS FOR USING OCEAN 3D VIRTUAL TOURS

Increased Engagement and Customer Interest
Studies show that people are more likely to engage with interactive content. A virtual tour captures attention longer than static images, allowing potential customers to immerse themselves in the space. This leads to higher conversion rates for businesses like hotels, event venues, Estate Agents, and tourist attractions.

Enhanced Marketing and Competitive Edge

A 3D tour sets a business apart from competitors. By integrating virtual tours into websites, social media, and Google listings, organizations can improve SEO rankings, increase online visibility, and attract more visitors. For businesses in hospitality, retail, and education, a virtual tour builds trust and creates a compelling first impression. Virtual tours literally take marketing to another dimension.

Cost and Time Savings
For Estate Agents, Virtual Tours can reduce the need for multiple in-person visits. Potential buyers will be familiar with the property before they arrive at the front door, and won't need to revisit several times to check that their 3-piece/bed/whatever-it-is fits, as there is a brilliant Measuring Tool built in to the tour! This saves both the business and potential visitors time and money, streamlining operations while enhancing the customer experience. Chris can even digitally de-furnish a property on request so that a potential buyer can visualise it empty!

Versatility for Training and Safety Planning
Beyond marketing, virtual tours are valuable for staff recruitment and onboarding, ongoing training, and health & safety planning. Potential and existing employees can familiarise themselves with a workspace remotely, helping businesses maintain efficiency and preparedness.
Don't just think of a Virtual Tour as just a digital novelty... it's a powerful tool for improving accessibility, marketing, engagement, and operational efficiency. And as technology advances, those organisations that adopt and benefit now will stay ahead of the pack that follow, while offering seamless, interactive experiences that meet the needs of modern audiences.
In today's digital landscape, standing out is paramount. Ocean 3D, the UK's leading creator of interactive 360° tours, offers a cutting-edge solution to showcase your space like never before.
